I am new to this site and wanted to say hi to everyone. I have a website and am trying to find out how to make search engines crawl my site. I currently am using Google adwords, with little success and spending a good bit of money. Any help in pointing me out in the right direction to get started would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

Welcome aboard Tepidus!

First off, pay-per-click listings have no affect on organic search engine results.

The best way to get yourself indexed in google and other major search engines is to acquire some inbound static text links pointing to your url.

An inbound link can be from a reciprocal link exchange (goto linksmanager.com), a text link ad (goto linkadage.com), a directory (goto dmoz.org), or several other alternative sources.

Take some time to read through the various threads in the Google, Yahoo, and linking strategies forums on this site. That should help you on your way.

Feel free to ask any follow up questions.

hugoguzman,

I am trying to work with linksmanager.com to get started with this. I am a true novice, so this may take some time. I know that my website is getting crawled, but how effectively is the question. I am currently trying to improve this. The web site is www.mattestusa.com. Is there any way that I can find out how the search engines are crawling my site if they are at all?

That best way to verify whether or not googlebot is crawling your site is to check your server logs.

You can also check and see if your server offers any sort of website statistics program.

googlebot is definitely crawling your site because your site is included in the google index and cache.

You need to focus your efforts on building up backlinks and optimizing them so that they target your specific search terms that you want to rank well for.

Is linksmanager.com going to help me with backlinks? Or is this a subject that I should research through the forum?
