Hello! Not sure if this is the place to post but it seems topical...
For search engine optimization, and user experience, what is the general concensus on using really long pages vs. breaking it up into many pages.
I can understand that if you want to boost page views, you may want to break up long content into many pages, but is this better or worse for both search engine ranking and user experience.
Is there some optimium page length for websites?

Don't know how you figure this falls under "PageRank Discussion", but oh well...

IMO most people have short attention spans. If you have long pieces of text, you definitely want to break them down in to standard page length.

A crawler will crawl only a limited portion of the webpage say 200k of text. With longer pages you have too many keywords and keyphrases on one page and the users will most likely get lost trying to find what they searched for.

Medium sized pages will be better, as works at the top is given more priority. After a certain length, the keywords doesnt have much value. So from SEO point of view, as well as getting more page views and hence ad views, I will prefer medium sized pages.
