Something big is brewing on the banks of the Columbia River 80 miles east of Portland. Google, Inc. has unveiled a giant computing hub that is more or less the size of a professional sports arena.
Project 2, as it has been dubbed locally, is arguably the most ambitious move yet for Google, a company known for its desire to innovate and mold the computing market. Nobody at Google has commented publicly on the project, and this is not surprising at when you consider that this company has a long-standing tradition of maintaining a CIA-like level of secrecy.
It's too early to tell what, if any, impact this will have on Google search. Still, I can only image that this will make their indexing capabilities that much stronger. That's a scary thought for a company that already has a stranglehold on search.
