Its official. Google is trying to take on Ebay by developing their "Google Base" application.
They took a huge step in that direction by eliminating their "Froogle" merchant center and replacing it with a similar application within Google Base. The good news for merchants is that account and product data from Froogle has been migrated over to the new system, so there won't be any hassles in terms of transfering data.
