In a startling revelation of wasted business expenses, a reported 64% of search advertisers fail to implement the very SEO recommendations that the advertisers paid search marketing consultants to provide.
A recent survey commissioned by Boston-based SEO firm iProspect revealed that most businesses encounter too many logistical obstacles to carry out the recommendations they are provided. Among the critical issues for businesses is the manpower devoted to web site maintenance and updates. The lack of human capital often results in insufficient time for implementing the recommendations set forth by the SEO consultant.
In addition, many search advertisers fail to implement the SEO Strategies because the company does not have the financial resources available to make the recommendations a reality. If there is not current time available for existing staff, outsourcing the tasks result in a significant budgetary strain on the company.
The greatest indication of the implementation difficulty is evidenced by the fact that even when such optimization work is outsourced, businesses indicated that 48% of the time the SEO firm underestimated both the monetary costs associated with implementation as well as the amount of time it would take to make the desired changes. In some cases, the failure of the SEO firm to be able to offer realistic goals and time lines was specified as the rationale for recommendations not being implemented.
The difficulties faced when outsourcing is that redesigned sitesoften lead to an upswing in traffic which can then lead to problems with the site's construction. In addition, SEO recommendationsgenerally include updating documents while adding new content to the site periodically but providing such content is often not in line with the priorities of tech site managers.
