Financial analysts are speculating that Yahoo plans to expand into the blog market. Basically, the plan is to help existing users create, publish, and search blogs.
Accordingto Marianne Wolk of Susquehanna Financial Group, Yahoo plans to "invest in the blogosphere; we see Yahoo building and buying blog tools and RSS search capabilities to complement MyYahoo's readership/aggregation service." Wolkalso mentionedthat she expects a potentially new advertising market to grow around blog content.
Don't be surprised if you see Yahoo unveil a feature similar to "Yahoo News" that is built specifically to index blog content based on relevance and date. I expect them to essentially build out a blog "search engine".
